Amman, November 2017 - Airport International Group celebrated the arrival of Fly Baghdad’s first flight to Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA), marking the start of four weekly flights between Amman and Baghdad. The welcoming ceremony was attended by chief representatives and other officials from both Airport International Group and Fly Baghdad, in addition to Fly Baghdad’s general sales agent in Jordan, Petra Travel and Tourism Company.
Fly Baghdad’s inaugural flight to Amman, which was honored with the customary ‘water arch’ salute, reaffirms Airport International Group’s ongoing efforts to expand QAIA’s airline network, which subsequently stimulates passenger traffic growth at Jordan’s prime gateway to the world. Furthermore, introducing Fly Baghdad at QAIA complements the Company’s objectives to provide passengers with a variety of options in terms of the number of airlines available and price ranges and services offered.
“We are excited to welcome Fly Baghdad at QAIA, as this will help us offer passengers additional flight options to and from Jordan,” said Binger. “We are confident that this step will also increase the number of passengers arriving to Jordan, which will not only contribute to the local tourism sector and the national economy as a whole, but will also strengthen ties between Jordan and Iraq in a number of areas. We look forward to partnering with additional airlines in the future, and we wish Fly Baghdad the best of luck.”
CEO of Fly Baghdad, Ali Al Hamdany said, "The launch of the Baghdad-Amman route was a priority in our airline’s new strategic plan, especially given the invaluable economic relations between the two countries, as well as the presence of a large Iraqi community in Jordan. I anticipate an upsurge in the frequency of flights between Iraq and Jordan in the coming period thanks to Iraq’s increasingly open economy and commercial scene."
